Big Hair is Back

Remember those rock bands of the 1980s, like Whitesnake, Guns N’ Roses, Stryper and Bon Jovi? We lovingly referred to them as “Hair Bands” for obvious reasons. Big hair was, well, big in the ‘80s. And now it’s back. At least for gals (there seems to be an attempt to bring back the mullet for guys, but really…why?)

Styles that are making an updated comeback include:

The Shaggy Curl – a shout-out to the style make famous by Jennifer Beals in “Flashdance,” this updated 80’s style puts your curls front and center, according to Elle Magazine. Perfect for those with naturally curly hair.

Volume – In Music City, cranking up the volume is a way of life, and women’s hairstyles are no exception. If some hair is good, more is better. Break out the teasing comb and blow-dryer to pump up and fluff up the volume, according to Southern Living Magazine.

Big Bang Theory – InStyle Magazine tracked Red Carpet events before announcing that 2018 is the year you’re probably going to have to try bangs. Fortunately there are plenty of styles of bangs to try, depending on the shape of your face. You might consider side-swept bangs, curtain bangs, micro bangs, or curly bangs, which ever works best for your. As the old commercial used to say, “No rules; Just right.”
